MONÇÕES PORT
RELEASE DATE: 2024Monções Port is a docudrama that tells the story of the expeditions that navigated the Tietê River in the 17th and 18th centuries, during the discovery of gold in Cuiabá. Commercial and military expeditions departed from Araritaguaba, now Porto Feliz, on batelões—boats made from a single log, up to 15 meters long—in journeys that lasted up to five or six months. A fascinating chapter of Brazilian history, virtually absent from textbooks and ignored in many other narratives of Brazilian history.
